California Watch, a news website founded by the center for Investigative Reporting, reported in 2010 that the number of people in the adult entertainment industry who are actually infected with HIV remains unknown, since in gay adult films, the actors are not required to be tested for HIV.

Indeed, the entire hoo-haw makes one wonder whether the city can afford to lose homeowners who work in adult entertainment. If city after city shuts their doors to adult production by forcing the condom issue, then companies will be forced to move out of Southern California altogether, whether they want to or not. If Simi Valley leaders are so adamant about this new ordinance, does that mean they don’t care whether those homeowners stay or leave? The winners of XBIZ’s awards were announced at a gala last month in Santa Monica, Calif. The awards honor the best in the world of adult entertainment. More than 140 were given out. While most of the categories are geared toward the heterosexual community they have a handful categories for gay males and transsexuals.

Fullerton, Calif., punk rock band Social Distortion performed a sold-out concert at the Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel on Friday night, and contributing photographer Erik Kabik was up close and personal to frontman Mike Ness (vocals, guitars), David Hidalgo Jr. (drums), Jonny Wickersham (guitars) and Brent Harding (bass) for his rock star photo gallery.

On January 13, at 10:50 p.m. officers walking through the lobby of the Extended Stay America hotel at 2200 Empire Ave., smelled marijuana coming from the man in front of them. When contacted, the man admitted that he had marijuana in his jacket pocket. He consented to a search, and the officers found a room key, large amounts of currency, and a California ID card belonging to a female. The man stated that the ID card belonged to is girlfriend. When the officers went to the hotel room, they found the woman, and located used and unused condoms throughout the room, three cell phones, and a laptop computer. The woman admitted that the man was her boyfriend, and he had convinced her to engage in prostitution while he provided her with protection. The man, Derwin Petteway, 20, of Lemon Grove, was arrested for pimping. The woman, Dulce Martinez, 18, of Hemet, was arrested for loitering with the intent to commit prostitution.

SANTA ANA – The state Supreme Court on Thursday overturned the death sentence of a pimp convicted of dousing one of his prostitutes in gasoline in the trunk of a Cadillac and leaving her to burn to death near Lakewood in 1995.
The justices ruled that jurors in the trial of Gary Galen Brents were improperly instructed on a special circumstance allegation of kidnapping.
Brents was convicted and sentenced to death in 2000 for the Oct. 4, 1995, murder of Kelly Gordon over $100 in proceeds from a methamphetamine sale. Brents had been staying with Gordon and two other women in an Anaheim motel.
Brents was convicted of first-degree murder and jurors found true the special circumstance of kidnapping, but were unable to reach a verdict on a special circumstance of torture. Prosecutors later decided against another trial on the torture special circumstance, so it was stricken.

Santiago is the first film from Executive Producer/Producer Daniel Woltosz and Director Felix Martiz. It stars Jesus Guevara, Weesam Keesh and Dan Lopecci in a unvarnished look at hispanic culture in L.A and what brings the immigrants here in the first place.
The film opens with Billy (Weesam Keesh) answering a Craigslist ad for a videographer. Miguel (Dan Lopecci) has hired Billy to follow him around for the day and record everything for research. It seems he is to play a street hustler, a pimp, a person who lives off of crime, a true playa, Santiago (Jesus Guevara). The film begins from BIlly’s point of view, with the narrative basically being what Billy sees, his trepidations and the story is progressed through the answers to his questions. Is all what it seems? Is Miguel just an actor doing research or is there more to it?
