The lead role of Samantha Horton is the focus of the movie and thus, was very demanding. The role was beautifully played by Jennifer Hewitt.
The story goes like; Samantha Horton takes up the job of a massage therapist to support her children, and later on, it gets complicated with the prostitution running at the backdoor.
It is a true saga, there is a massage parlor called Healing Touch in Odessa, Texas, and Samantha Horton, who is a woman and helpless mother and who wants to lead a respectable life, but unfortunately falls into the dirt of prostitution to support her family.

Both the fictional Horton and the real Martinez lived and plied their trade in Texas. Both also tried to hide their prostitution activity by calling it “massage.” And both put their kids first. As Martinez told the press, she moved to Dallas’ tony University Park neighborhood because, “my main motivation was a good education without having to pay private school prices. I know they want more desirable people. But this is what they are going to get until my kids graduate from high school.”
The big difference between Horton and Martinez? While Hewitt’s Horton was a “massage parlor” employee, Martinez owner her own “massage” business, run out of her home. Martinez denied that her parlor, which wasn’t properly licensed, doled out anything but massages. She was, however, charged with prostitution.
What’s next for cable TV? We’ve got mom selling marijuana on Weeds, mom turning tricks on The Client List, and dad cooking crack on Breaking Bad. Is anything left?

The answer is not as simple as the question. Yes, The Client List is based on a true story, but only loosely. The real story apparently took place in Texas. Cynthia Martinez, a 44 year-old mother, started a “massage parlor” out of her home in order to help support her children. She was busted for prostitution during a sting operation and then was charged with running the parlor without a license (I guess she actually massaged a few people instead of just “massaging” people). Martinez denied all charges. You can check out the full report at the Dallas Morning News, but it seems their site is acting a little funny.
So while both revolve around prostitution and massage parlors, that’s all they really have in common. Martinez didn’t have a hunky husband to fret over and tried to have a go at this whole thing on her own as opposed to being hired to do what Hewitt was doing.

Four people were arrested after Pomona police officers investigated an erotic business masquerading as a massage parlor.
Eneida Rodriguez, 30, of Fontana and Sheila Gonzalez Lopez, 26, of Los Angeles were arrested about 3 p.m. Thursday on suspicion of prostitution at Dermaroma Massage Parlor at 1996 Indian Hill Blvd. in Pomona. Juan Antonio Estrada, 38, of Rialto was arrested on suspicion of pimping and Manuel Arellanes, 25, of Ontario was arrested for outstanding warrants.
Police officers received an anonymous tip about suspicious activity happening at the business, according to a police news release. During an undercover investigation, the officers discovered the employees engaged in soliciting prostitution.
Officials plan to start the process of revoking the business license immediately, according to the news release.
