Billy Ray Cyrus Says Miley’s Pole Dance Was Nothing

Aside from mugging an old lady and snorting heroin in front of a nun, there is very little Miley Cyrus can do wrong in her dad’s eyes.
Miley’s controversial performance earlier this month at the Teen Choice Awards had the singer bumping and grinding in a sexy little outfit and swinging around the stripper pole. But Billy Ray Cyrus sees nothing wrong with his 16-year-old’s performance.
“You know what? I just think that Miley loves entertaining people,” he told Access Hollywood. “She loves singing [and] songwriting.”
And, apparently, she likes dancing like she works in go-go bar.
“I always tell her to love what you’re doing and stay focused for the love of the art and not worry so much about opinion,” he says. “I give my kids a lot of freedom to make the art they wanna make, and make it in their own voice. I think it’s important.”
