I didn’t know who Clarkson was. I’ve never watched Top Gear. But I do watch University Challenge and that was the only Jeremy I knew. The name was in my head so when I met Clarkson, I blurted out: “Hello Mr Paxman.”

Ah. I’ve been in some good ones in my time. There’s one in Texas that was pretty cool but for value for money you can’t beat the strip bar in Edinburgh that offers £5 lapdances at lunchtime. One Edinburgh Festival, me and my mate lived over the road and spent every lunchtime there. You can’t argue with prices like that.
