Presenting crime statistics over the past year, Huizar noted that violent (so-called Part 1) crimes in Eagle Rock went down from 541 in 2010 to 519 in 2011. Larceny (theft) went down 14 percent and auto theft was reduced by 12 percent, the Council member said, pointing out that there were no homicides or rapes. (Northeast L.A. ranked second in the entire City in violent crime reduction in 2011, Huizar further noted.)
Policy Initiatives
Huizar also praised a number of policy initiatives, including regulation of massage parlors in Eagle Rock and the introduction of bike lanes along York Boulevard and Eagle Rock Boulevard as part of a larger loop connected to Figueroa Street and Downtown. (Officer Orange told the audience that the LAPD had shut down two massage parlors on Colorado Boulevard and two on Eagle Rock Boulevard this past week, including one where a customer had contracted a sexually transmitted disease. Orange told Patch separately that the customer had complained to the LAPD that he caught the disease while indulging in oral sex at the massage parlor.)

Los Angeles Adult Entertainment: Pacino, Walken, & Arkin Are ‘Stand Up Guys’
The story centers on two aging criminals, one of whom has been hired to kill his friend.
They decide to enjoy one last night of debauchery in which they hit up a brothel, steal some cars and evade police but also face the choices they made in their lives.
Walken and Arkin are no strangers to the comedy genre, but Pacino seems to be the odd addition to the ménage-a-trois-ensemble. Unless of course Stevens and the producers were among the few to watch last year’s Adam Sandler appalling Jack and Jill and were instantly smitten.
The film is being made by Lakeshore in conjunction with Sidney Kimmel Entertainment, and is scheduled to begin shooting in April.

Los Angeles Adult Entertainment: 3 arrested in Simi Valley massage parlor stings
Simi Valley police recently arrested three women in sting operations targeting suspected prostitution at massage businesses, officials said Wednesday.
Massage therapists were arrested between Jan. 19 and Jan. 24 after undercover officers were solicited for sex acts, police said.
The arrests were made at JJ Spa at 1524 Los Angeles Ave., VIP Massage at 1864 Cochran St. and Siam Thai Massage at 2513 Tapo St., officials said.
The suspects were a 49-year-old Santa Paula woman, 36-year-old Reseda woman and 25-year-old Porter Ranch woman, officials said. All were cited on suspicion of misdemeanor solicitation for prostitution and released.
The arrests came less than a month after a similar operation by the department netted two solicitation arrests.
Anyone with information about possible prostitution at Simi Valley massage businesses may call 583-6950.

Book Goes Into The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual Exploits of 1940′s Stars
A former Marine is naming names about his time in Hollywood. Scotty Bowers claims to have run a gay and bisexual prostitution ring that brought in some of the biggest names in 1940′s Hollywood, and now his tell-all is about to hit the stores. The 88-year-old claims to have had among those who visited his services are Cary Grant, Rock Hudson, George Cukor, Katherine Hepburn and Vivien Leigh.
“Full Service: My Adventures in Hollywood and the Secret Sex Lives of the Stars” is to be published on February 14 by Grove Press. Bowers, who lives in the Hollywood Hills, was interviewed by the New York Times ahead of the release of the book, which was written by Lionel Friedberg.

In many ways, Baz Luhrmann’s delirious musical pastiche Moulin Rouge is a sign that cinema has gone to the dogs, beaten down by hummingbird editing techniques, histrionic slapstick, and cheap pop-culture references. A FORMER male prostitute in Hollywood has claimed he had sex orgies with the Duke and Duchess of Windsor.
Scotty Bowers, 88, says in his memoirs that he catered for decades to scores of closeted gay and lesbian film stars, either sleeping with them himself or providing them with young men and women.
He claims his clients included Cary Grant, Vivien Leigh, Randolph Scott, Katharine Hepburn, Spencer Tracy and Noel Coward.
Bowers established his reputation with the stars, he says, after being propositioned by actor Walter Pidgeon while working as a petrol station attendant.
His forthcoming book, Full Service: My Adventures in Hollywood and the Secret Sex Lives of the Stars, is likely to draw attacks from admirers of those he names, none of whom are alive.
“I’ve kept silent all these years because I didn’t want to hurt any of these people,” he said.

Los Angeles Escorts: Simi council supports porn condom ordinance, but expresses concerns
The ordinance was drafted at the urging of Mayor Bob Huber after the Los Angeles City Council adopted a similar one last month. Huber has said he wants to send a message to the adult industry, centered in the neighboring San Fernando Valley, that it is not welcome in “family-oriented” Simi Valley.
The ostensible aim of the Los Angeles law is to protect porn actors from HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases. Some producers opposed to the ordinance are reportedly considering moving outside Los Angeles to make videos without condoms, which is what they say consumers want. Simi Valley has been mentioned as a possible new shooting location.
Toward the end of the council’s discussion, Sojka suggested he had concerns about Huber first airing the proposed ordinance in the media. He also said Huber had issued a news release in November, alleging some massage parlors are fronts for prostitution.
